DATE BALLS 
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. butter
1 (8 oz.) dates, chopped
1 c. nuts
2 1/2 c. Rice Krispies

Set aside Rice Krispies and nuts. Mix all other ingredients in a saucepan. Cook slowly over low heat for 10 minutes. Stir constantly. Remove from heat, add nuts and Rice Krispies. Shape into balls and roll in 10 X sugar or coconut.
