2 1/3 c. plain flour
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg

Combine all ingredients, then shape into a ball and refrigerate until dough is easy to handle. Roll out dough to 1/8 inch thickness on a lightly floured board. Cut out cookies and bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown around the edges. (This makes about 3 dozen (3 1/2 inch) round cookies. Very easy.)
