EASY, BASIC, BUTTER COOKIES | |
1 c. (2 sticks) butter 1 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1/4 tsp. salt Cream butter, add sugar gradually, cream until fluffy. Add unbeaten egg and vanilla. Beat well. Sift together dry ingredients. Blend into creamed mixture. Divide dough, chill dough. Roll on well floured board to 1/8 inch thickness. Bake about 6 minutes on unbuttered cookie sheet in 400 degree oven. |
