CHOCOLATE-WALNUT CRUNCH | |
1 lb. butter 2 c. sugar 1/4 c. water 2 tbsp. light corn syrup 2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces 1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts Melt butter over heat in 4 quart saucepan. Add sugar and stir until melted. Add water and corn syrup. Cook over low heat until 290 degrees, about 45 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in coarsely chopped walnuts. Spread in buttered 15 x 10 x 1 inch pan. Let stand until firm. Melt chocolate over water. Spread on candy. Sprinkle with finely chopped walnuts. Let chocolate stand until firm. Break into pieces. Makes 2 pounds. |
