1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (9 oz.) pkg. None Such Condensed Mincemeat, crumbled

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In large mixer bowl, beat shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs; beat well. Stir together dry ingredients; gradually add to shortening mixture. Mix well. Stir in mincemeat. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto greased baking sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Garnish as desired. Makes about 6 1/2 dozen.

TIP: For a more cake-like cookie, substituted 1 1/3 cups (one-half 27 ounce jar) None such Ready-to-Use Mincemeat for condensed mincemeat.
