MIKE'S MILD CHILI | |
1 1/2 lb. ground beef 1 med. onion, chopped 3 tbsp. brown sugar 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste Salt and pepper to taste 1 tbsp. chili powder or to taste 2 1/2 c. water 1 1/2 c. cooked macaroni 1 can kidney beans (optional) Brown ground beef. Mix in chopped onion, salt, pepper, chili powder, and brown sugar. Let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in tomato sauce, paste and water. Cover and let simmer (see note) while preparing cooked macaroni. Drain macaroni and add to chili mixture. SERVING SUGGESTIONS: 1. Plain. 2. Over mashed potatoes. 3. Sprinkle with shredded cheese. NOTE: If desired, kidney beans may be added here. |
