PAN DE POLVO | |
4 c. flour 2 c. sugar 2 c. shortening, well packed 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1 egg 1 c. pecans, chopped Sugar & cinnamon mixture for dusting baked cookies Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt and set aside. Mix well (or beat) egg and shortening. Add dry ingredients plus pecans to the egg and shortening. Mix with hands until well blended into dough. Divide dough and form into grapefruit-sized balls. Roll out dough, one ball at a time to approximately 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. Remove from oven and while hot, dust cookies with sugar and cinnamon mixture until well coated. Cool. |
