CHERRY PIE 
3 c. canned sour cherries
1 c. sugar or 1/2 c. sugar & sugar substitute equivalent to 1/2 c. sugar
5 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. cherry juice
Pastry for a 2 crust pie

Mix flour, sugar and salt together. Add cherries and juice and mix well. Add extract. Pour into unbaked pie crust. Make strips out of the remaining crust and put on top of the pie. Dot with butter. Bake at 450 degrees until the pastry starts to brown, about 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 300 degrees and finish baking.
