1 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. pinto beans, cooked & mashed
2 c. diced raw apples
1 c. raisins (can put in hot water to plump)
1 c. walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in beans, apples, raisins, nuts and vanilla. Pour into greased and floured pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Good with Cream Cheese Icing - Powdered Sugar Icing or Whip Cream.
