MOLASSES TAFFY 
1 c. molasses
2 tsp. vinegar
3/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. butter
1/8 tsp. salt
1 candy thermometer

Boil molasses, vinegar and sugar to hard ball stage (262 to 270 degrees). Remove from heat, add 1 tablespoon baking soda, 2 tablespoons butter and 1/8 teaspoon salt and blend. Pour into buttered pan and cool. When cool, remove from pan and pull, pull, pull - until firm and light colored. Cut ropes into 1 - 1 1/2 inch pieces and wrap in small pieces of wax paper to store in jars or cans.
