MOLASSES TAFFY | |
1/2 c. molasses 1 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. water 1 1/2 tbsp. vinegar 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar 4 tbsp. melted butter 1/8 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. lemon extract Dissolve molasses, sugar, water, vinegar, boil in heavy kettle, stirring constantly. Add cream of tartar when boiling begins, cook until brittle when tested in cold water. Remove from fire, add soda and butter. Pour into buttered pans when cool, pull, add flavoring. Cut with scissors. |
