SORGHUM MOLASSES TAFFY | |
Want to bring back some good memories and have a good time. Thar's jest nothing like a good taffy pull. Fun for the yung 'uns and old folks, too! Combine in pan: 2 c. sorghum molasses 1 tbsp. vinegar Put on medium burner. Cook to hard ball stage stirring constantly to prevent scorching. When done, stir in 1/4 teaspoon baking soda. Stir briskly until mixture looks light and foamy. Pour out into a buttered pan. Let cool until it can be handled. Butter hands and pull 1/2 of the taffy at a time. Pull fold over and pull again. Pull until it hardens and loses its stickiness. Break into bite-size pieces. Wrap in waxed paper. Can be doubled. |
