BARBEQUED SPARE RIBS | |
5-7 lbs. country style spare ribs 3/4 c. water 3/4 c. catsup 2 tbsp. butter 1 tbsp. grated onion 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp. vinegar 4 tbsp. lemon juice 3/4 tsp. chili powder 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 1 tsp. paprika 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/2 tsp. celery salt 3 tbsp. brown sugar Place ribs, lean side up, in a flat pan. Bake at 450 degrees for 30 minutes. Combine remaining ingredients, boil for 5 minutes. Place ribs in a Dutch oven or a large roaster and pour the sauce over the top. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes longer. Baste occasionally. Yield: 4 servings. (I usually always double the sauce and cook 7 to 9 pounds of meat.) |
