OLD-FASHIONED PEACH COBBLER | |
CRUST: 3 c. plain flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. shortening 3/4 c. water FILLING: 1 lg. can sliced peaches 1 stick butter, melted 1/2 c. sugar 1 tbsp. cornstarch For crust mix flour and salt; add shortening. Mix with fork until mixture resembles small peas. Add water and stir together. Divide in half. Roll on floured board to desired size. Filling: Mix peaches with juice, butter, sugar, and cornstarch together. Butter baking dish well. Put first crust on bottom; add peach mixture. Cover with second crust. Spread melted butter on top, then sprinkle with sugar. Bake 30 minutes in 350 degree oven or until golden brown. |
