ORANGE-WALNUT FUDGE | |
3 c. sugar 1 (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 tbsp. shredded orange peel 4 c. coarsely chopped walnuts 1/2 c. orange juice Line a 13x9x2 pan with foil. Butter the sides of a heavy 3 quart saucepan. In it combine sugar, orange juice and 1/2 cup water. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves and mixture comes to boiling. Continue cooking to 234 degrees (soft ball stage) stirring only as necessary to prevent sticking (mixture should boil gently over entire surface). Remove from heat. Add chocolate chips and orange peel stirring until chocolate is melted. Stir in the walnuts. Spread mixture in prepared pan. Chill until firm. Cut into squares. Store in refrigerator. Makes 3 pounds. |
