CHOCOLATE CHIP BANANA BREAD 
1/2 c. butter (softened)
1 c. sugar
2 lg. eggs
1 tbsp. grated orange peel
1 c. mashed bananas
2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Preheat oven 350 degrees. Grease two 8x4 pans.

In a large bowl with electric mixer at medium speed, cream butter, sugar, eggs and orange peel until light and fluffy. Beat in mashed bananas.

On waxed paper, combine flour, baking soda and 1/2 tsp. salt. At low speed gradually add flour mixture, then buttermilk. Beat just until smooth. Stir in nuts and chocolate pieces.

Evenly spoon into pans. Bake 1 hour or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Makes 2 loaves.
