Pastry (recipe follows)
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 to 2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 1/3 c. sugar
4 bananas, peeled
1/3 c. water
Sugar
butter

Divide pastry into 4 equal parts; roll each part into an 8 inch circle. Spread each circle with butter; and sprinkle with nutmeg and sugar. Place a whole banana on top and roll up, jelly roll fashion.

Place 4 rolls in a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan; pour 1/3 cup water over all. Sprinkle a little sugar on top and dot with butter. Bake at 375 degrees for about 45 minutes or until brown. Serve warm. Yield: 4 servings.

PASTRY:

1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
3 to 3 1/2 tbsp. ice water

Combine flour and salt; cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add water slowly, stirring with a fork, until mixture clings together. Yield: pastry for 4 rolls.
