BASIC BROWNIES | |
1/3 c. butter 2/3 c. sugar 2 tbsp. water 6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips 2 eggs 3/4 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla or peppermint extract Combine butter, sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Process hot butter mixture with chocolate chips until smooth and blended and chocolate pieces have melted, about 15 to 20 seconds. Add eggs through feed tube while machine is running and process a few seconds longer. Add remaining ingredients and process with 3 or 4 quick on/off turns. Scrape down sides of bowl as necessary. Spread batter evenly in a greased 8-inch square baking pan. Bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes. Yield: 25 brownies. Freezes well. If desired, ice with your favorite chocolate frosting and sprinkle with chopped nuts! |
