SOUTHERN CORN BREAD | |
1 c. corn meal 2 fresh yard eggs 2 oz. vegetable oil (this may vary) 2 tbsp. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 2 tbsp. sugar 1 c. sweet milk Mix all ingredients. Add enough water to make mixture very "liquid" so that it pours easily. Heat a small iron skillet containing a small amount of oil. When pan is hot and oil is smoking, add the batter. Bake in a preheated 420 degree oven for about 30 to 40 minutes or until nicely browned and turns esily out of the pan. May be eaten hot or cold. Bishohp of the Diocese of Fort Worth, Tx. |
