ITALIAN NUT BALLS | |
3/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 egg yolks 3/4 c. soft butter 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 1/2 tsp. almond extract 2 c. flour 1 1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts 2 egg whites, beaten 1/2 jar of favorite preserves Combine in bowl first 6 ingredients, mix for 1 minute. Then add flour. Blend at low speed. Roll dough in 1 inch balls. Dip each ball into egg whites then roll in crushed nuts. Place on greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake at 305 degrees for 10 to 20 minutes until firm and lightly browned. Make depression in center while cookies are still warm and fill with preserves. |
