ITALIAN SPAGHETTI AND MEAT BALLS 
46 oz. tomato juice
1 c. sliced mushrooms
3 sm. cans tomato paste
2 sm. cans tomato sauce
1 heaping tsp. crushed oregano
1 heaping tsp. crushed basil
1 lg. whole bay leaf (remove when done cooking)
1 tsp. baking soda, and salt, pepper to taste
1 med. onion, chopped
2 med. cloves garlic (chopped)

Brown onions in small amounts of oil in large pan for cooking sauce. Add all ingredients and simmer for about 3 hours.

MEATBALLS:

1 lb. ground beef
2 eggs
2 slices cubed bread
2 cloves crushed garlic
2 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp. parsley
Salt and pepper to your taste

Shape into balls and brown in heavy skillet, cook with sauce. Recipe for meat balls may be doubled. Cook spaghetti as directed on box. Serves about 6.
