1 1/2 lbs. round steak (1/2-inch thick) 1 (10 1/4 oz.) can Franco-American beef gravy 1/2 cup dairy sour cream 1/8 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 tsp. salt dash pepper 6 medium carrots, cut in 2-inch pieces 1/2 cup diagonally cut green onion Pound meat. Cut in serving size pieces. Brown in shortening; pour off fat. Add gravy, sour cream, nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon salt and dash of pepper. Cover; simmer 30 minutes. Add carrots, cook 50 minutes. Stir. Add onion, cook 50 minutes. Stir. Add onion; cook 10 minutes more. Makes 4 to 6 servings. |
