SPLIT PEA SOUP 
16 oz. dried green split peas
1/2 lb. cubed ham
1 lg. chopped onion
6 pt. water
Salt and pepper to taste
1 bay leaf
Garlic to taste

Rinse peas, and add all ingredients. Simmer for 2 to 2 1/4 hours. Serves 10- 12.

Goes well with Mexican Cornbread.
