CHRISTOPHER'S CHOCOLATE NUT
CRISPIES
 
1 c. sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
2 c. chunky peanut butter
2 tbsp. butter
5 c. crisp rice cereal
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped peanuts

In a 3 quart saucepan, combine sugar and syrup. Cook and stir over medium heat for 5 minutes to dissolve sugar. Remove from heat; blend in peanut butter and butter. Stir in cereal. Spread mixture into a 13"x9"x2" pan. In a heavy saucepan melt chocolate chips over low heat. Spread over cereal mixture. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Cover pan with foil; chill for 1 hour or until topping is firm. Cut in bars with knife. Makes 36 bars. (Can use butterscotch chips, instead of chocolate chips, if desired.)
