I have made this recipe for years and I always bake the crust for about 10 minutes first and then add topping. Works great that way!

I use this same recipe with 1 egg, also you can add any flavor you want. Like carrot cake and pumpkin with cream cheese and sugar!!! Sooo yummy... I also add vanilla.

Super Great, Wonderful... My Favorite!! I alter recipe by using SPICE CAKE MIX. Then as the very last step I fold in 3/4 of a bag of CINNAMON CHIPS!! DELICIOUS!!

First time I made this I decided to try a can of cherry pie filling between the layers... OMG!! We went nuts over it and I made it again 3 days later ;)

My aunt gave me this recipe about 30 years ago. I use only one egg in the cake mix layer and cook 35-45 minutes. The top should be golden with a sort of crust. Substitute any cake flavor with wonderful results.

I made mine differently. Only 1 egg in crust, and cup nuts in filling. Yummy! And yes cooking longer is must!,

I consider myself a good cook and I normally do not follow recipes to the T always making changes etc etc but this one I did except for cooking it longer like the other reviewers had said they did. This tasted OK. Very sweet and rich. It did not turn out at all like I was expecting. The top layer rose in a high puff on all four sides but was sunk in the middle part. Wouldn't be something I would make for guest because it's not pretty cooked and not like flat bars or brownie like which I was thinking they would be. These were not very Ooey Gooey at all and were more cake like. I won't be making this again and hope I can find a good Blondie recipe which is more what I am looking for.

Kinda bland. Sweet and rich but bland. Adding a little almond flavoring and baking with sliced or slivered almonds on top makes it pretty and more flavorful. This recipe would be good with lemon flavor also.

I just ate this recipe for the first time and it was delicious, however, the person that made them used a brownie mix (for 9x13, not regular brownie recipe) instead of the yellow cake mix... Excellent!! Thanks!
