After I cook my recipe I spread it on a cookie sheet and cut them in squares. I like this better than dropping by the spoonful. Like eating fudge.

Alice, Thank you so much. I went to walmart, and they indeed had real butter for $2.50. So got 2 of them. Now I don't have to worry. Butter is high tho. I saw on youtube, a lot now are making their own. So might try it too, as it's pretty easy to make at home after watching those videos. Thank you again Alice.

Grew up with recipe and still when I bake them we make a dozen but only end up with three left over. Well I guess we will never learn.

We have had these cookies since I was a little girl. Over the years my sister and I have changed the recipe just a little bit. Instead of making a small batch we double it, then use regular oats instead of quick, natural peanut butter (a whole jar) keeps the shape of the cookie, and after stirring in peanut butter, vanilla and oatmeal let it come to a boil again before removing the saucepan. I promise they are delicious.

As a child on halloween, there was a lady in SE Missouri who gave this cookie as a treet. My Mom would always take them from me and my sister if she had the chance. I would break a piece off and give her the rest. Brought back old memories! Thanks for the recipe!

Have made and loved these cookies/candy for years. Was making them last week and was 1/2 cup short of quick oats, so went to cupboard and found instant oatmeal packets, used two with banana flavor. Yummm

My husband grew up on these, he calls them No-Bake Fudgies. He makes them for my chocolate fix on a regular basis. Also a little refridgeration will help set the "fudgies". Almond Extract will knock these out of the park.

How come by the time I get mid way through the pot of Dropping them on to the paper It just becomes all crumbs. Is there a better way to keep it hot with out having to twist and turn and hurry from the stove to the table with a spoonful of "glop" lol??

My b/f is a junk food junkie he has to have "Snacks" Every single night last week I made the ones I'm used to which are peanut butter No bakes and they did the same exact thing I am Dropping them on to the paper as Quickly as I possibly can

I'm half tempted that next time I make it just to pour it into a 9x13 pan and smooth it out and cut them in squares when cool

oh and these have been around for years and I've only known them as No- Bake Cookies, My elementary school used to sell them at lunch 2 for a Quarter we got to choose between Peanut butter or Chocolate, Or We could get 2 Square Buckeyes for a Quarter :D

oh and they're such a hit that my b/f is taking them off the paper no more than i get them on I asked if he'd rather just me mix it all up and bring him the pot and a spoon :D

I sub almond milk for milk, almond butter for peanut butter, use 50% oatmeal and 50% grapenuts cereal and use agave nectar instead of sugar. Low gi treat for diabetics.
