WASHDAY PEACH COBBLER 
2 c. canned or frozen peaches
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
dash of salt
1 stick butter

Topping:

1/4 c. sugar, mixed with cinnamon

Heat oven to 400°F. Bring fruit to boiling. Turn off heat. Melt butter in a 9 x 13-inch pan in the oven while it is preheating.

Mix flour, sugar, milk, baking powder and salt all together and mix well. Pour batter into pan with the melted butter. Add fruit. Do not stir. Sprinkle with the topping mix of sugar and cinnamon. Nutmeg may be used in place of cinnamon.

Bake for 20 to 30 minutes. You may use other fruits as well. Just follow with the same ingredients.
