FRENCH FRIED ONIONS 
2 lb. onions, sliced 1/4 in. thick
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 slightly beaten egg

Soak onions in ice water about 2 hours. Mix remaining ingredients to make a batter. Dip onion rings in batter and fry immediately in deep fat, 370 degrees. Drain. Can be crisped in a warm oven if not served at once.
