FRENCH FRIED ONIONS 
1 lg. Spanish or Bermuda onion
2/3 c. milk
1/2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Peel onion. Cut into 1/4" slices and separate into rings. Heat oil (1" deep) in large skillet. Beat remaining ingredients until smooth. Dip each ring into batter. Fry a few onions at a time, about 2 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. 3 or 4 servings.
