FRENCH FRIED ONION RINGS 
3 lg. Bermuda onions
1 c. flour
1 c. milk
1 egg
1 tbsp. melted Crisco
Salt & pepper to suit taste

Peel onions and cut crosswise into 1/4" slices; separate the slices into rings. Beat egg; add milk, flour, shortening, salt and pepper. Dip onion rings into batter and drop into deep fat, heated to 375 degrees and cook for 3 minutes. Drain on absorbent paper. Serves 6 to 8.
