1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. cocoa

1 tsp. vanilla
6 tbsp. oil
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 c. water

Sift all dry ingredients together. Add vanilla, oil and vinegar. Then pour water over all ingredients and stir with fork. Bake in 9x9-inch pan for 25 minutes at 400 degrees.

QUICK BROIL FROSTING:

6 tbsp. butter
2/3 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1 c. coconut
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter and then stir in remainder of ingredients. Spread over warm cake and brown lightly under broiler.
