5 tbsp. soft butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
3 c. diced apples
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and mix well. Stir in apples, walnuts, and vanilla. Mix flour with soda, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon. Stir in dry ingredients just until there is no trace of flour. Pour into greased 8 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.
