SUGAR CRUSTED APPLES 
6 lg. cooking apples (York)
1/3 c. all-purpose flour
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. butter, softened
1 egg, slightly beaten
3/4 c. orange juice

Core and peel apples. Combine flour, sugar and cinnamon. Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture looks like coarse cornmeal. Dip apples in egg and roll in flour mixture. Arrange in a greased pan and fill cavities with remaining flour mixture. Pour orange juice in pan. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until tender.
