SUGAR PLUM CAKE 
4 c. flour
8 oz. chopped dates
1 lb. orange slice candy (cut up in small pieces, use only about 3/4 of pound of candy)
1 1/2 c. coconut, flaked
2 c. pecans, chopped
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. orange extract

In large bowl put 1 cup flour, coconut, dates and candy, set aside. Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, beat well after each egg. Sift remaining flour with soda and salt and add alternately with buttermilk. Beat in lemon juice and orange extract.

Add floured candy dates and nuts. Stir well by hand. Bake at 250 degrees for 2 1/2 hours. Use 10 inch tube pan or 2 loaf pans.

SAUCE:

1 c. orange juice
2 c. powdered sugar
2 tsp. orange rind

Punch holes in cake with straw and pour glaze over cake. Will be very moist.
