SNICKERDOODLE COOKIES 
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine dry ingredients. Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla and dry ingredients. Prepare dough in small balls, then roll them in a coating of 1/4 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet, 12 to 15 minutes at 375 degrees. Yield: 3 1/2 dozen.
