7 LAYER SALAD | |
1/2 med. head iceberg lettuce, shredded 1/2 c. coarsely chopped celery 1/2 c. coarsely chopped red or green pepper 1/2 to 3/4 c. coarsely chopped red onion 1/2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen petite peas, thawed 1 c. mayonnaise 1 tbsp. sugar 1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese 1/4 c. bacon bits In large salad bowl, glass if you have it, arrange lettuce, celery, pepper, onion, and peas in layers. Spread mayonnaise evenly over peas. Sprinkle with sugar and then cheddar cheese. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours, or overnight. Sprinkle with bacon bits just before serving. When serving, make sure you dig straight down with serving utensil so you get each layer. Serves 6. |
