MARK'S BAKED BEANS | |
1 lb. beans, soaked overnight in water 1 tsp. baking soda 8 slices bacon 1 can tomato soup 1 diced onion 2 tbsp. mustard 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 c. molasses After soaking beans in water (to cover them), boil in large pot with 1 teaspoon baking soda until tender. Drain. In pot, boil bacon or salt pork separately to remove some fat; drain. In bottom of large pot, put slices of boiled bacon and all other ingredients. Stir and add beans. Add the water that boiled bacon was in or fresh water to cover the beans in the pot. Bake in oven until liquid is absorbed. About 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees. |
