FRENCH FRIED ONIONS 
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. salad oil or lard
1 egg white, unbeaten
6 tbsp. water
2 - 3 lg. onions, peeled and sliced

Put flour into bowl. Add milk, oil and egg whites and beat until smooth. Add enough water to make a medium thin batter. Deep fry at 375 degrees until golden brown. Will keep in warm oven 15 to 20 minutes after frying. Serves 5.
