RIBS WITH BAR-B-Q SAUCE | |
1/2 c. chopped finely onions 1 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. cider vinegar 1 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce Pepper to taste 1/2 c. ketchup 1/8 c. water 1 tbsp. light corn syrup 2 lbs. country-style pork ribs In a medium saucepan, combine onions, salt, vinegar, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, ketchup, water, and corn syrup. Bring to a boil and simmer 15 minutes. Place the ribs in a large pot and cover with water. Add 1 tablespoon of salt. Cover, bring to a boil and simmer 45 minutes; drain. Dip meat in sauce and place on hot grill. Cook 15 minutes, basting with additional sauce, until the fat is very crispy. Can be prepared ahead; allow cooked ribs to marinate in sauce until ready to grill. Yield: about 1 cup sauce. |
