CLOUD BISCUITS FOR HEAVENLY
EATING
 
2 c. sifted flour
1 tbsp. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg, beaten
2/3 c. milk

Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until like crumbs. Combine egg and milk and add to flour mixture all at once. Stir until dough follows fork around bowl. Turn out on floured board. Knead gently with palm of hand, about 20 strokes. Pat dough until 3/4" thick. Cut with cutter. Place on ungreased sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 14 minutes or until brown. Makes 2 dozen.

If drop biscuits are wanted, add 3/4 cup more milk, omit kneading and drop.
