2 c. self-rising flour 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 6-8 tbsp. butter flavored shortening 1 c. grated sharp or med. Cheddar cheese 1 c. milk, approx. Melted butter Garlic powder Mix flour, pepper and dry mustard in a large bowl. Cut in shortening, then fold in grated cheese. Add enough milk to make a stiff dough that will still drop from a spoon. Drop dough onto a greased pan by the tablespoon or use a medium ice cream scoop. Brush tops with melted butter. Sprinkle with garlic powder. Dry parsley flakes also may be sprinkled over the tops for color. Bake in 450 degree oven for 12-15 minutes until nicely browned. |
