GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE BARS 
1 German chocolate cake mix
14 oz. pkg. Kraft caramels
6 oz. (1 c.) chocolate chips
3/4 c. melted butter
2/3 c. evaporated milk
1 c. chopped nuts

Melt caramels in 1/3 cup milk. Mix cake mix, melted butter, 1/3 cup milk and nuts until this holds together. Press 1/2 of mixture into pan and bake at 350 degrees for six minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips and melted caramel mixture, then the rest of the dough mix on top. Bake 15 to 18 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and refrigerate for 1 hour to set. Refrigerating the above makes it easier to cut. After being cut, they need not be refrigerated.
