SPECIAL CANDIED NUTS 
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. evaporated milk
2 tsp. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla or maple
1 1/2 to 2 c. walnut halves or pecans

Mix all ingredients except nuts, bring to a boil, cook until 236 degrees or soft ball stage. Remove from heat, add nuts. Stir until nuts are all coated and you can no longer stir. Turn out on waxed paper or cookie sheet, separate nuts quickly. Then eat.
