PEACH COBBLER 
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. butter
1/2 c. buttermilk
6 c. peeled and sliced fresh peaches
1 c. boiling water
1 stick butter
1 1/2 c. white sugar
Dash of salt
Nutmeg

To make crust, sift flour, salt and baking powder together in medium sized bowl. Cut in 1/3 cup butter, add buttermilk in which soda has been dissolved. Cool in refrigerator. Roll thin. Line large baking dish with pastry. Turn peaches into crust.

Pour boiling water over sugar and butter in quart size saucepan and cook over low heat until sugar melts, stirring occasionally. Pour carefully over fruit. Sprinkle salt and nutmeg over top. Cover with thin top crust. Bake 15 minutes at 450 degrees, lower heat to 350 degrees and bake 10 minutes longer, or until golden brown. Serves 8.
