TOMATO SOUP SPICE CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 can tomato soup
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Mix 1 teaspoon baking soda into can of soup. Cream together sugar, shortening, and egg. Add tomato soup. Beat in flour, spices and nuts. Bake in an 8 x 8 x 2-inch greased pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

FROSTING:

1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 c. confectioners sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
