This was my first time making a fruit pie, and it was a winner. The topping was buttery & delicious and the filling perfect. It did fall apart a little and I'm thinking I might have had too much liquid in the filling (I made it the night before and the apples did sweat) But it was crumbly and flavorful, and I'll make it again.

Easy pie. I used Honey Crisp apples since I am not a fan of Granny Smith. Turned out great when taking it over to the in-laws. Now it's an annual request. I did not want to fuss with the pie crust on top and this method not only makes it easy, it requires no baking skills.
