MOM'S DEEP DISH APPLE PIE 
6-7 c. apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
1-2 tsp. lemon juice
2/3-3/4 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
9 inch square Pyrex baking dish, buttered
1 tbsp. butter

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Sprinkle lemon juice over apples. Combine brown sugar, flour, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon. Layer half of apples in baking dish with sharp edges facing inward. Sprinkle with 1/2 of sugar mixture. Top with rest of apples, then with the rest of sugar. Dot with butter.
