ENGLISH TOFFEE 
1 lb. real butter
2 1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. light corn syrup
1/2 c. water
Sliced almonds

Let boil stirring constantly. Cook to hard crack stage (290-300 degrees). Pour on ungreased cookie sheet. Top with melted chocolate bar and nuts.
