ENGLISH TOFFEE DESSERT | |
3/4 c.sugar 1/2 c. whipping cream 1/4 c. clear corn syrup (Karo) 2 tbsp. butter 2 (1 1/8 oz.) English toffee bars (Heath or Skor), crushed 4 c. fresh strawberries, halved 1 c. sour cream Combine first 4 ingredients in small heavy saucepan; cook over medium heat until mixture comes to boil. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; add candy; stir well; cool. Sauce thickens as it cools. Place strawberries in serving dishes, top with 2-3 tablespoons sour cream and then 2-3 tablespoons sauce. Serves 8. |
