4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together first 3 ingredients. Cream butter, slowly add sugar. Beat until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well. Stir in vanilla. Stir in flour mixture, mixing well. Cover dough and chill well until firm enough to roll out. Roll dough 1/4 inch thick. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake 8 minutes at 350 degrees. Frost or decorate as desired.
